This week, in honor of all the men and women on the front lines of our Nation's current uprising, we'll celebrate one of the greatest uprisings in world history - The Haitian Revolution. Join us for excerpts from the first play in France-Luce Benson's epic trilogy - Deux Femmes on the Edge de la Revolution.
In the midst of the Haitian Revolution, two women - an enslaved healer of African nobility, and a French woman sold into marriage, form an unlikely alliance on the battle fields of San Domingue, and like the revolution, their journeys will forever change the course of history.
Deux Femmes on the Edge de la Revolution has had development workshops at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Afropea Festival in Marseilles, France, and Global Black Voices in London. It was featured at the Lark's New Black Fest in NYC, and was honored by the Kilroys List in 2018 and 2019.
